Job Description:

• Assist the lead splicer in performing fiber optic cable splicing, including preparation, alignment, and basic splicing support activities. 
•  Prepare fiber cables by measuring, cutting, stripping, and cleaning fiber strands to ensure readiness for splicing. 
•  Support the operation and handling of splicing tools and equipment such as fusion splicing machines, OTDR, and optical power meters. 
•  Assist in installation and maintenance of ADSS fiber optic cables, ensuring proper handling, routing, and protection of cables. 
•  Prepare and organize materials and workspace for efficient splicing operations in both indoor and outdoor environments. 
•  Help identify and troubleshoot basic fiber optic network issues and support repair activities under supervision. 
•  Assist in proper site setup, ensuring safety standards are followed and the work area remains clean and organized. 
•  Maintain accurate records of daily work, including materials used, tasks completed, and timesheets. 
•  Follow all health and safety guidelines during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities. 
•  Coordinate with team members and report progress or issues to the lead splicer or supervisor. 

Specification:

• Basic knowledge of fiber optic installation & maintenance. 
•  Willingness to learn and work with experienced splicers. 
•  Ability to handle splicing tools and equipment. 
•  Physically fit for fieldwork and cable handling. 
•  Good teamwork and communication skills. 
•  Detail-oriented with ability to follow instructions. 
•  Experience with fiber optic cables. 
•  Knowledge of safety practices in fiber work. 
•  Ability to read basic fiber diagrams/schematics. 
•  Certification in basic fiber optic training (plus point).
