Job Description:

Teaching & Learning:

  • Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials across a range of courses within the department.
  • Develop and prepare course materials, including syllabi, assessments, and reading materials.
  • Foster an interactive and supportive learning environment to encourage student engagement.
  • Assess and grade student work fairly and promptly.
  • Provide academic support and mentoring to students as needed.

Curriculum Development:

  • Contribute to the design and development of new courses and programs.
  • Regularly review and update course content to ensure it is current and relevant.
  • Participate in curriculum planning meetings and contribute ideas for improving teaching practices.

Research & Professional Development:

  • Conduct research in the relevant subject area and publish findings in academic journals or present at conferences.
  • Stay updated on developments within the field through continuous professional development.
  • Supervise student research projects (undergraduate or postgraduate), as required.

Administrative Duties:

  • Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and other administrative duties.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student performance and attendance.
  • Contribute to the assessment and accreditation processes for programs within the department.

Student Engagement:

  • Hold regular office hours to provide academic assistance to students.
  • Advise students on academic progress and career development.
  • Respond to student inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Other Duties:

  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or academic leadership team.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • A minimum of a Master’s degree in the relevant field 
    • Evidence of teaching qualifications or certifications is an advantage

Experience:

  • Teaching Experience:
    • Previous experience in teaching at a higher education level (e.g., university, college) is preferred.
    • Experience in curriculum development, course design, and assessment is desirable.
  • Research Experience:
    • Demonstrated research experience in the relevant academic field, including publications in peer-reviewed journals or other scholarly contributions.
    • Ability to supervise student research projects is an asset.
  • Administrative Experience:
    • Experience in academic administration (e.g., managing course materials, grading, student advisement) is a plus.
